Young adults, we will be getting together this Saturday at the Curry's house, at 7 p.m. It will be our first of four meetings this semester. If you are unsure as to how to get there or if you need a ride, let me know by either calling me or leaving a message on here. This get together will be more of a time to catch up, perhaps we will play a game or something along those lines. I look forward to seeing everyone!

Something to think about and comment on if you wish.

The past few weeks something has been on my heart that perhaps the young adult community can grab on to. I am sorry if I am confusing!

I am student teaching this semester and it is going well. I learn so much from the kids. But something in particular has stood out to me. A few weeks ago, during recess, one of the students drew a picture. The picture was of a broken heart.... at first I did not think much of it, as kids draw things like that all the time. But later that night I started to think about it again. The drawing was so out of character for this student, as he tends to be a tough, draw pictures of aliens, or video game characters, kind of kid. Then for some reason I started to think about us, not just the young adults, but the Christian community as a whole.

There are so many broken people in this world, I really felt like that picture represented so many things; the lost, the hurting, the brokenness of the people in this town, from the adults all the way down to the 6, 7, and 8 year - olds. I feel like it also represents how our hearts should be for them, broken and ripped apart because they do not know truth or they choose to ignore it. If perhaps we could grasp onto this, and pray to God to give us a heart that is broken for this town, this country, and this world, we would see change. If we would pray for a heart that would love these people so much that we really would pray for them, that we really would go out of way for them, we would see people healed and life restored.

I really do feel as though this young adult community has the ability to put action to words and I am excited to see what God does with it!

Wow Kristan! It slipped my mind that I had teased you Sunday morning about how outdated the blog was... not any more. You have managed to touch the heart of God here... a very powerful post! Come on young adult community... get behind this! Kristan has grabbed something big here, don't let this slip idly by your grasp. It might be as simple as a well placed prayerful plea, it might be a reaching out physically to another person or situation. Just let it be something!!
